Do you accept insurance?

No, but I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I also accept health savings account payments.

What happens in a free consultation?

Consults help you get to know me. It’s a chance for us to get a feel for each other. We usually talk about your reasons for seeking help, and any previous therapy you’ve had. I also am happy to answer any questions you might have about me or my practice.

Do you offer online/telehealth sessions?

Yes, I offer online sessions via Zoom. These are helpful if in-person sessions are inconvenient for any reason. As long as you are in a safe, secure location, and I know the address, we can meet online.

How is this different from regular talk therapy?

My approach is active, engaged, and focused on nonverbal, as well as verbal communication; some clients have referred to it as intense. Emotional closeness is necessary for me to help you. This can be scary, but openness, and understanding the reasons why you might resist it, are crucial for successful therapy. The work is experiential; you will learn by doing, not by my telling you.

What if I'm not sure this therapy is right for me yet?

This is absolutely OK. My approach is not for everyone. I can provide referrals to other therapists and my door is always open to you. Typically, you’ll know by the end of our first session if this therapy is a good fit for you.
