I offer clients a space to reflect and rebuild, a place to grow in the midst of life’s journeys. I recognize the transformative power of personal exploration and help clients discover health, wholeness, and understanding. Our past, including our earliest attachments, influence who we are and yet we are not prisoners; we are always capable of becoming our own best selves.
My approach is client-centered, incorporating experiential strategies rooted in the understanding that emotional bonds are necessary throughout our lives. I will collaborate with you as you integrate your life into a meaningful whole. With couples, I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy, a proven method to help couples reconnect and resolve relationship conflict.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia (LPC009687), as well as a national certified counselor (#336432). In addition to my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University, I also hold Masters degrees from New York University, where I focused on film and literary theory, and Garrett Theological Seminary, where I concentrated on the intersection of theology, environmental ethics, and gender studies.
I have worked in a variety of professional settings in Atlanta, Chicago, and New York providing me a wealth of experience to draw upon. My background includes stints at two national nonprofits and one of the largest market research firms in the U.S. Prior to TRU, I worked at one of Atlanta's oldest and most well respected community mental health agencies. I worked with adults, adolescents, and children in the areas of substance abuse, sexual behavior problems, relationships, and a wide variety of mental health concerns.
